GENERAL INFORMATION
The Quarry Gators Swim Team is open to all club members 5-18 years of age. Tryouts are required only for new swimmers to the team. The tryout will consist of the swimmer completing the following requirements:
- 1 length of the pool (25 yards) swimming freestyle and 1 length of backstroke.
The tryout ensures that each swimmer can participate with the team and assess the swimmer for placement in the appropriate training group. 25 yards is approximately the distance between the front pier and the float. If your child cannot swim this distance independently, do not attend tryouts or seek private instruction before attending for an appropriate assessment. NEW: Junior Gators is a scaled-down program designed for swimmers who may not be ready for the full swim team experience or who had difficulty during their tryout.
All swimmers are assigned to a training group based on their ability level. Families will be contacted to confirm practice group placement before the first practice of the season.
FALL 2024 TRYOUT DATE & TIME (pre-registration REQUIRED!!!)
- Wednesday, October 23 from 5:30 – 6:00 p.m.
- Tryouts are only required for all new swimmers to the team.
- Please register below and indicate that you are a new swimmer either (1) attending the 10/23 tryout or (2) that you need to schedule a different tryout time.

FALL 2024 Practice Schedule
- first practice — Friday, October 25
- last practice — Friday, December 13
- practices will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays except where noted below
- practice times — 4:30 – 5:15 or 5:15 – 6:00 p.m. — choose upon registration
- NOTE: REGISTRATION HAS CLOSED FOR THE 5:15 P.M. PRACTICE GROUP.

- Wednesday, November 27 — Thanksgiving Break
- Friday, November 29 — Thanksgiving Break

NEW: Junior Gators
- A new program has been developed specifically designed for swimmers ages 5-10 who have graduated level 3/4 swim lessons (or verified equivalent instruction) but may not be ready for the full-blown QG experience.
- Junior Gators will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:00 – 5:45 p.m. and Saturdays from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. within a given session.

PROGRAM FEE & PAYMENT OPTIONS
Payments for the Quarry Gators swim team should be made before the first day of practice, Friday, October 25.
- $200 per swimmer
- $150 per additional swimmer from the same household
Payments can be made with cash or checks made payable to “Lakeside Swim Club” with “Quarry Gators” on the memo. Either can be accepted by a front gate attendant at Lakeside during the changeover season (see website for hours), by a Lakeside supervisor, or by a head coach (William or Theresa) in person.
