JOB DESCRIPTION
Incumbent works under the general supervision of the Lakeside Management and the supervising staff of Lakeside Swim Club, in all matters pertinent to the operation of the Lakeside facility. Duties are reviewed on a continuing basis for conformance with the policies, procedures, budgetary limitations, and objectives of the club.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Serves as Summer Intern and assists in the planning, directing and coordination of the programs, events, facilities, to ensure a continued well-rounded program within the activities/personnel available.
- Works in all areas of the club to include, administration, aquatics, concession operations, competitive teams, clerical operations, fitness, maintenance, public relations, special events, and general supervision of day-to-day activities.
- Fulfills all Internship requirements set forth by the University or College the Intern represents.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Participates in summer Pre-Season Training of summer employees.
- Intern will be educated and gain supervision in each area of the club.
- Administration: Membership, Accounting, Personnel, Payroll, Budget, Board of Directors and Committees
- Aquatics: Lifeguarding; Swimming activities include: lap swim, kiddy pool, recreation swimming, water basketball and water volleyball, bull pen, and raft area. Programming in infant, children, and adult swimming instruction, springboard diving instruction, scuba classes, summer camps, lifeguard classes, junior lifeguard classes, and synchronized swimming.
- Concession Operations: Day to day operation of food service to include ordering, inventory, supervision of staff, food preparation, cash drawer balance, and facilities sanitation.
- Competitive Teams: Lakeside Seahawks Age Group Team, Lakeside Quarry Gators Developmental Team, and Lakeside Masters Adult Swim Team.
- Clerical Operations: Front desk check in, swim shop operations, and front office operations. To include locker rentals, stocking of membership cards, selling of guest tickets, swim products, and apparel.
- Fitness: Weight room, sauna, and multipurpose room operations. Programming in Aerobics, Aqua Aerobics, Nia, Tai Chi, Yoga, and Personal Training.
- Maintenance: Swimming pool operations & filter systems, landscape, building, offices, and restroom maintenance.
- Public Relations: Intern shall serve as an ambassador for the Lakeside Swim Club. Assists in program and activity promotions through use of flyers, posters and displays on bulletin boards and other areas of the clubs.
- Special Events: Event management to include 7 swim meets, outdoor concerts, adult swims, art classes, children’s music programs, Bingo, Fourth of July Games, basketball, volleyball, corn hole and annual Dog Swim.
- Performs any other duties as directed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 25-40 hour work week; mornings, days, nights, and weekends.
- CPR, Lifeguard certification, and food service operations certifications desired, but not required.
