INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
LIGHTNING AND THUNDERSTORMS
When lightning has been sighted or thunder heard, the lifeguard(s) on duty will stand and blow one long whistle and point to the sky.
- In the SUMMER: All members and their guests must clear the water and deck areas immediately and move to the Pavilion, Thompson and/or the Eckard building. When classes are not in session, the activities room(s) of the Eckard Building will be open to provide shelter from the weather. All outdoor activities are prohibited while the water is cleared for a storm.
- In the FALL/WINTER: All members and guests must clear the Bubble, and remain in the Thompson Building hallway or bathrooms. The exercise room and saunas are also available for those old enough to go to the second floor.
- Lakeside policy is to keep the water areas clear for 30 minutes after the last sighting of lightning or sound of thunder.
If severe weather persists, Lakeside may modify club hours. Call the club if in question.
- If you purchase and use guest tickets and a thunderstorm occurs, you may be entitled to a Raincheck ticket. Please view our guest ticket page HERE for information regarding our Raincheck policy.
